Hi Simon, I met you briefly a couple of weeks ago in the Bluebell Woods by Kinclaven, as you were photographing the ancient Beech tree, and just wanted to say how much i enjoyed looking through your portfolio. I recall you mentioning how you were a just an amateur photographer, and I was taken aback at this as I perused your really excellent shots on this website. A real favourite of mine is your shot of the twisted tree at Glen Lednock. I almost went in search of the location! But unfortunately I only had 2 brief weeks in Perth, and had to make do with various local trips with my camera when the time allowed. I am in the US for a while now before heading back to our farm in NZ, but if you are ever in the vacinity of Nelson - top of the South Island, i'd be happy to show you around. Regards, Tim
p.s. I found a truly wonderful spot just 2-3miles off the A9, on the road to Dalguise and Balnaguard, - a gentle hillside right next to the road, full of Spruce, Fir and Beech trees, with smatterings of bluebells and ferns, and at mid-afternoon the sunlight spills down the slope in a breathtaking fashion. Might be worth a look some day.
